How lots of people lose credibility, before it’s ever built!

Take a quick look on this blog layout, and it’s easy to understand why I’m in the market for a layout. As I was perusing the wares at the warriorforum member for hire section, I came across a member who’s offering some really good looking layouts.

As I was looking through them to see if there was anything that I liked, I came across a great looking site from an internet marketer. I won’t name any names or anything like that. Not that it would be anyone that anyone would know. His site looks amazing. Very professionally done, with a video next to an opt-in with a decent video that he made of himself talking about working online.

So curiosity bit me like a cat, or whatever it does. I started browsing to see what he had to say about working online, and to see how he’s doing. He’s an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) guy, and although I’ve been there and done that, I wasn’t going to hold that against him. :D I still remember some great stories of mlm when I was just 10…but that’s another post in itself!

He has a few videos up, the first one I saw was titled day 3 of my 45 day challenge to myself. That’s really similar to what I’m currently attempting on this blog, so it peeked my interest fast, and I decided to check it out. He talked about working online, made some good points about staying productive, end of video. Ok…I still didn’t know what his 45 day challenge was so I decided to look at his other videos.

Unfortunately he only had one other video up from day 2, and it also didn’t say what the challenge was! Though it did make some great points about staying on track, and sticking with it, because working online is very doable. He even asked that people not give up too early.

Ok.. Next video.. But uh.. there wasn’t one. He didn’t explain his challenge, and he hadn’t posted anything else since…MARCH. I couldn’t believe it. He has great potential, and there’s no doubt in my mind that if he were to stick with it, he could successful with his website.

I wasn’t interested in his free ebook, but honestly even if it were something that I was interested, and even after he had done such a great job selling it(which he did) I still wouldn’t have downloaded it, I still wouldn’t have joined his list, and although he could provide some good advice, it was just obvious that he wasn’t SERIOUS about working online with that site.

He lost all his credibility. It didn’t bother me that he failed his 45 day challenge. Or that I never got to find out what exactly the challenge was…but what really hurt his site more than anything, was that he was attempting to be an authority site, and it hadn’t been updated in over 3 months.

If you’re trying to run an authority site, make sure you update it! Don’t have a blank site with 10 posts, talking about how you’re about to do so much, and over the next X amount of days you’ll be there all day every day, because it’s what you love/know/want to share with the world, and then dissapear. People read what you have to say.

By the way, if you were wondering what my Challenge is, you’ll have to keep reading more posts :D
