I came across a post today saying that LinkWheels are dead. I thought I should bring it up here and let you all in on a little secret.
They aren’t! That’s the good news. Now let’s see the bad. The OLD style of link wheels are longer effective.
The old style, the closed loop method, is easily traced by the google algorithm and no longer passes the link juice it once used to. The open link wheel method also doesn’t pass the link juice it once did. You see, google doesn’t want everyone to go out and build manual links in the first place. So if there’s an easy method that makes your site jump to the top really fast….they’re going to fix that loophole.
Bad news complete. Back to the good! Open LinksWheels are still effective. I’ve been having great success using them in the past few months I’ve moved quite a few keywords up in the big G and other search engines just by setting up the first link wheel technique.
What exactly are Open LinkWheels?
Lets use the example of 4 web 2.0 properties:A,B,C, and D. And you money site: $
Site A links to B and $
Site B links to C and $
Site C links to D and $
Site D links to $ and $
That’s a “complete” open linkwheel. The wrong way to do a linkwheel, is by pointing your sites back to one another, and not in a “straight line”. You can continue this process for as many sites as you need. Just make sure you never point back to one of your older web 2.0 sites.
