4 Reasons Why Google Sniper Sites Are a BAD Idea

Here’s my 4 reasons why Google sniper sites are a bad idea and you shouldn’t build your business around this strategy.

First, I want to say upfront that YES, you can make money online with Google sniper sites.  But just because you can make money with a technique doesn’t mean you should focus all of your energy on it.

#3 Google Sniper Sites Are Another Get Rich Quick Gimmick

Build a site in minutes, do NO work to it and make thousands per month?  Wow, it’s so easy!  Give me a break.  If you’re serious about working online, and you’re thinking about building Google Sniper sites, pay close attention to this article.  I’ll help you realize the difference between chasing a dream and building a successful business online.

#2 – Google Sniper Sites Don’t Provide Value

These sites are set up with 1 goal in mind.  To funnel traffic from a keyword to an offer of some kind.  The content in many cases is scraped junk that provides very little content.

It’s like if you do a search for a product review and all the results are having the same “review” that the product owner supplied.  It doesn’t provide any value to the end user.  Now, not all sniper sites have scraped content of course, but they’re still set up in a way that content isn’t important, only getting free traffic and pushing towards an offer.

#3 – Google Sniper Sites Are Out SEO’d Easily

Seeing these sites rank for a keyword to me is a signal that I can easily get ranked.  If you can set up an exact match domain with minimal backlinking, then great.  My site isn’t a thin turd, and I’ll get it ranked with minial backlinking too!

Even if I didn’t have my own site, I could just post an article and get it ranked super easy.  A google sniper site in the top 10 results to me says, “Come and Get It!”

#4 Google Sniper Sites Have Zero Authority

This is another reason they’re so easy to beat out.  Plus, when a visitor does make their way to the site, only to find a thin site with little to no content, they’re let down.  People are stupid, and when they come across one of these sites, they’re know what’s going on.

This isn’t 1992 anymore.  People know what’s online, and when they come accross “another spammy site”.

#4 It’s Not Where The Money’s At

If you had planned on building Google Sniper sites, only to find your way to this article, I know exactly what you’re thinking..

“Great, thanks for ruining it for me.  Now what am I suppossed to do?”

Well here, I’ll tell you that too.  You should build a list!  Actually, you should build several lists.  You’ve probably heard it a million times, the money is in the list.  Yet… here you are, chasing an easy way to riches… why?

You already know the most profitable way to make money online is building a list, what’s holding you back?

You know what, it doesn’t even matter.  Obviously you’re here looking for a way to start making money online, and you’re prepared to take action.  Do yourself a favor, and take the right action.

Start building your list today.

Focusing On Quality Slows Production

If you’ve been following my challenge, you’ll know that I’m focusing on building a list, and have been giving some great tips here on my blog as I go along.

What I’ve noticed is that I need to go back through and “fix” some of the steps that I had previously set up.

I had been giving away the report on the warrior forum war room for free, and now I’m selling it as a WSO.

More importantly, I’ve been going through the back end of the auto responder series to set up a “standard” powerhouse series that I’ll be able to use with several different reports, all in the IM niche.  I’ll have to tweek each set of emails, but a lot of these emails I’m writing will be able to pour over into other auto responder series as well.

Eventually I’d like to have 10-20 small reports all bringing in a few opt ins per day, running them through a solid training course on following through with the right steps to building a successful business online, and not just chasing dreams every times something new pops up.

So the back end is extremely important to me, because it will generate sales, but will also be an excellent training course for a lot of people to break into the internet marketing scene with the knowledge it takes to be successful and the tips to shave months, if not years off their learning curves.

I have no problem at all sharing my mistakes, and in doing so I hope to help a lot of internet marketers a long the way.

So while it’s true that since I’m focusing on the quality of my back end today, doing so the right way will make it a lot easier with the reports I’m about to be releasing.

When it’s all said and done, I’ll be able to lay it all out about the exact mistakes, and corrections I’ve been able to make and point people to the exact techniques I was able to use to do it right.

Multiple Offers in the Same Niche

Something I learned pretty early on with list building is that there are typically a lot of different free reports or give aways you can offer people to opt in.

So how do you go about getting people who opted in to learn about building a list and people who opted in for a free webinar about affiliate sites on “the same page”?

Your auto responder messages, while building a strong relationship by providing compelling content and recommending quality products should also be set up as a way to introduce people to your current articles that you’re writing.

Let’s say for example, you write a free report about an article marketing strategy.

Your auto responder should be set up so that over 2-3 months the reader is getting a solid education in article marketing AND other parts of building traffic, seo, building a list and more.  EVERYTHING!

Each one of your free lists should be an introduction into a certain topic, and then your auto responder series will be the advanced techniques to take the reader farther into success with the strategies you’re sharing and provide a well rounded education in the main niche of the report.

So if 2 people were to optin to 2 different reports of yours, by the time they’re finished you should be able to send an email to both of them and get a very similar interest sparked because both readers will be on the same level and ready to learn more at that level.

Remember, building a list is just as much about educating people as it is making money for yourself.  If you take the time to teach, people will learn and want to know more.  If you just over promote and show them that you’re just there to make a quick buck..they’ll blow you off in a heart beat.

Is There Junk In Your Trunk?!

I’m talking about your backend of course… The backend of your sales funnel!

From reading this blog, I hope the most important aspect you learn is that you should be building a list, no matter which niche you’re focusing on.  But building a list is more than just giving away a free report and sending some affiliate offers.

Unfortunately, that’s the way a lot of people do it, and their open rates, click through rates, and sales reflect it.

I’ve been compiling a list of solo ad sellers to take advantage of with my free reports, and it’s crazy how many times I’ll see someone with a list size of 1,000 who is able to send 100 click, and then someone else with a list of 5,000 who is also saying they’ll send.. 100 clicks!

Why do you think that is?  Obviously the person with the smaller list is new to building a list and they’re focusing on providing really solid content, and the people with the larger lists have been doing it for a while and have sent too many junk offers.

So how do you keep your list responsive, even when it’s big?

By not throughing every junk, easy money opportunity at your subscribers.  People aren’t dumb, and if every time your emails is about some new great affiliate product, you’ll lose a lot of trust with your list.

How do you do it right then?

Provide helpful, informative articles.  A lot of them.  Most importantly, set up an auto responder series and keep track of it’s performance as people read the emails.

This way you’ll be able to provide quality content, and recommend a handful of products to each new subscriber.  Plus you’ll be able to tweak the performance of the auto responder messages to get better conversion rates, and build a better relationship with your readers.

All on auto-pilot.  Once you’ve set it up, it will run it’s course for every new optin you get.

But what about after wards?  Well that’s where having a blog comes in handy.  You’ll want to write informative posts about your topic and refer your readers there to learn more.

My Most Powerful IM Tool

Working online is just like working any other profession.  To be successful at what you do, certain tools are required.

So I want to share with you my most powerful tool of all that I have in my arsenal.

It’s not software though.  It doesn’t build backlinks, heck it doesn’t even save me time.

Instead it’s a basic tool that helps keep me on track.

I’m talking about a pen and a piece of paper.

If you often times find yourself loosing focus, like I do, then a pen and piece of paper could help you get on track and stay on track.

Often times it seems like there’s a million things that need to get done, and I’m just not sure where to start.  Some times I know I should be doing something, but I’m just not sure what.

So I’ll write down a list of tasks that I need to get done.

Seeing what I need to do on paper makes it a lot easier to say…. ok, that one is the most important I’ll start there.

Plus I’m more likely to spend my time working on those tasks then surfing around a forum, watching videos or something else that only distracts me from working.

What do you use to help keep you motivated and focused?

Niche Picking – How To Find Your Niche Market

Here’s the detailed process of niche picking.  You’ll learn how to find a niche, and finding niche keywords.

The first thing you’ll want to do is think of a general area of business that you’d like to focus on.  This could be anything like fitness, finance, computers, travel, food, automotive, art, recreation… anything at all.

Once you have a general idea, it’s time to see if there is anyone searching for that niche online, and to find some keywords that you can rank for easily within that niche.

To do that, we’ll need to head over to the Google Keyword Tool.

Start off by entering your keyword in the box provided, answering the captcha and hitting search.  Don’t pay much attention to the results just yet though, they’re really misleading.

Scroll down on the left hand side and inside the Match Types section, uncheck Broad and check the [Exact] button.  You’ll now be looking at the amount of times people are searching Google for the keywords monthly.

find a niche

Obviously the more search volume a keyword has, the more competition it is going to have.  In this example we can also see that Google gives us a bar showing the amount of competition for the keyword.  This number represents the amount of competing pages, but not the difficulty of the top ranking sites.

To check the competition of the top ranking sites, we’ll need to take a look at the average Page Rank of those top 10 sites for a keyword.

This can be done using the SEO for Firefox plugin for the Firefox browser.  If you aren’t using the free Firefox browser yet, you should at least download it and use it for purposes like this.  Firefox is the best browser when it comes to Internet Marketing addons and features.

With the plugin installed, when you do a Google search, you’ll be able to see the Page Rank.  Add the results from all 10 sites together, and divide that number by 10 to get your average Page Rank.

I don’t have this plugin installed, because I use a different method that’s able to do this really fast.  Doing this manually can take quite a while, so here’s how I do it.

I use a tool called Hot Niche Spy.  I start off by entering the main keyword I’m targeting, selecting the Keywords & Competition button and then searching with the Investigate button.

On the next screen, I’ll be shown the results of the top 10 pages average PR, links to those sites, the keywords they’re ranking for, and a long list of related keywords I can use.

Since I started off with a general niche, in this example fitness, I know the keyword competition is going to be high.  Here we can see it’s an average PR of 4.8, the average CPC(cost per click) is 1.59 – 1.98 and Adwords is dealing about around 7,000 to 8,800 clicks per day for this keyword.

For easy to rank for keywords, we’re looking for keywords that have a 2.5 or lower.  4.8 is very competitive.

I also placed an arrow pointing to the recommended keywords.  There is always a HUGE list of keywords here, so what I do is click inside the box, Ctrl+A to select everything, then Ctrl+C to copy.

Once I have my keywords copied, I head back to the search page and select the Avg. PR Competition Analyzer button, which will bring us to a new page.

On the next screen, I’ll simple enter in all of my keywords that I copied from the search results and run them through the software all at once to find the easiest keywords to get ranked for quickly.

Here’s what that looks like…

As you can see, as the results come up, we’ll be able to scroll through the list of keywords and find the ones that are the easiest to rank for.

I don’t stop here.

I go through the list 1 by 1, looking for keywords that have a low average PR and the keyword is something that I could benefit from.

I then copy down all of the keywords that I like into a notepad.  I put 1 keyword per line, until I reach the end of the analyzed keywords.

Then I take my keywords, and copy/paste them all together into the Google Keyword Tool.

After the results are populated, I click the Search Volume tab, so that the highest volume keywords are at the top of the list, and I can choose which keywords I want to keep and which ones I want to get rid of.

You can see, even for a competitive niche like Fitness, there are still a ton of easy to rank for keywords that get traffic.

After you get your list of keywords together, use them to create content for your webpage and backlink your website with anchor text backlinks to get your site to move up in the search engines.

You can also create articles on article directories and backlink those articles as well so that you can get more rankings in the search engines, and filter off more of the traffic.

The first step is finding the keywords though.  If you’d like to use Hot Niche Spy, like I do to make it really easy, you can try it out for just $1 through this link.

Which ever method you chose, I hope you start taking action today.

Day 4! A New Theme, With All The Right Features

Since I kept thinking to myself, I need to find out what day of my challenge I’m on… I did it… day 4!

I also picked up a new theme for my blog today.

Let me tell you why I chose this one.

I knew I had to have a few options on my theme.  Most importantly, I needed a theme that allowed an optin box at the top left of the screen.

There’s no optin form there yet if you look, but you will notice a blank box that soon will be one!

I picked up the theme for $10 on the warrior forum, and it still needs some work done to it, so I’m sure I’ll spend a little more to get it tweaked the way I like it.

I need the content size, and sidebar sizes fixed, so everything fits the way I like it too.

Besides the optin box at the top, I want a 250×250 advert on the top of the sidebar, and room for 4 125×125 ads some where inside the sidebar as well.

I also noticed when I set up this blog that I hadn’t included any of the neccessary plugins, like All-in-one SEO, xml sitemap or anything at all.

After I get my report written and my optin ready, I’ll also be looking for a plugin that will ad my optin to the end of every post so that when new visitors come to the blog they’ll get the chance to see the opt in at the top, and again after they’ve read the content they came here to see.

My Free Report Is Falling To Pieces!!

If you’ve been following my $10k in 90 days challenge, you’ll know that I’ve been working on creating a few reports the last few days.

I had originally planned on writing and giving away an ebook about SEO, since I know a lot about it.  Then I planned to OTO a traffic ebook that I’ve created.

I also have 2 other reports in mind that I’m writing.

Well the bad news is that I really don’t think I should just give away the “free” report for free!

Instead I’m going to sell it for a really low price on the warrior forum to build myself a buyers list.

Although I probably won’t get as many opt ins and build my list numbers as fast, the quality of the people on the list will be much better than if I were to get a list of freebie seekers.

This is something often said by list owners…”I’d rather have a list of buyers”.  So I’m just going to take the advice and build myself a list of buyers instead of “just a list”.

The good thing about doing this, is that I’ll still be able to sell my SEO ebook, and then when I’m ready I’ll be able to sell my traffic ebook as well.  So instead of 1 product, I have 2.

The bad news is that I had also planned on giving away that ebook here on my site for free.  I can’t do that here, and sell it on the warriorforum as a “special offer”… it just wouldn’t be right.

Tadda!  That’s why I love blogging.

Getting my thoughts out there, helps with coming up with new ideas.  I just did some brain storming and guess what… I have another ebook to add to the list!  It will be something that the readers who find themself to this blog will be interested in.  Not something I’m giving away or selling any where else, and something that will be a great addition to this blog.

Info Overload? You Need to Read This NOW

Information overload happens a LOT to new comers to internet marketing.

Hell it even happens to people who have doing it successfully for years.

It just seems like there’s a million different ways to make money online, and a million different techniques.

The reality is that we naturally want to know and understand EVERY last one.

If you’re getting caught up in the trap of jumping on the next bandwagen every time a new emails comes to your inbox, I really hope you read every last word of this post and think about what move YOU want to make.. I’m about to lay it all out for you.

There really aren’t a million different ways to make money online!!!

It only seems like that, because there are a lot of different techniques to doing it successfully.

Here’s exactly what I’m saying..

You’re either going to
A.) Sell your own products or services
B.) Sell other products/services as an affiliate

Did I forget something?  Hm… MFA sites?  (Made for Adsense)

If that’s your path, please stop.  Sure some money can be made from Adsense clicks, but making a websites solely for the purpose of getting clicks is against the Adsense TOS.  What would you do is you spent the next year making 20-30 Adsense sites, you quit your job then a month later…Google slaps them all because they’re violating their TOS?

If you’re really wanting to make money online, you need to look at it as a long term business plan and stop trying to see how you can make $$ fast.  Yes it can be done, and there are definitely ways for you to make money to be found right here on this blog.

So what’s that leave us with… selling your own products or being an affiliate.

CPA offers!  Right.. I forgot about CPA offers.

You could set up traffic to make someone else money.

It’s pretty much like being an affiliate anyway, so I grouped it in that category.

After all, it’s not your product you’re promoting it’s someone else’s.  Even if they’re using an optin form and promoting a million different offers, you’re selling their product for a commission upfront.

So make a decision, right now.

Would you rather sell your own products, or be an affiliate for others?

Oh.. by the way.. It’s a lot more profitable to sell your own products.

Once you’ve decided the answer to this question for yourself, you need to find a niche, make a website with your offer and drive traffic.

The next time you get an email about the next big thing and how push button easy it is… ask yourself if it will help you with what you’re doing.  If the answer is no.. forget about it.

Why YOU Shouldn’t Offer Services Online

You may or may not know it, but for a while I offered backlink services.

It’s a pretty tough market though if you’re like me and live in a European country.

After 20% VAT is taken off the top, another 30% is lost exchanging from dollar to euro, and to top it all off if you want to stay competitive in that market you have to compete with people in India and the Philipines.

They’re conversion rate is going the other way, so by offering services for cheap, they’re able to make some pretty good money, and catch new clients hook, line and sinker with their low prices.

It didn’t take me too long to realize the services that I was delivering were worth more than the low prices I was charging, and even more… my time is worth more than I was making in return.

The reason I stopped that business model and changed to an Info Product formula is because with Info products, I only have to do the manual work once.

When it’s all set up, all I’ll have left to do is drive traffic to my opt in pages, let the auto responder handle things, test new ways to increase opt ins and profit and drive more traffic.

It’s a lot like if I were to look for new SEO clients, but then once I recieved payment… I didn’t have to actually do anything at all.  I just said… well nothing…  the auto responder says it for me!

Then to top it off, the auto responder stays in contact and continues to sell more products for months to come before I actually have to do anything at all…pretty sweet.

So if you’re thinking about offering services online as your business model, let me give you some advice from someone who has been there and done that… don’t.

There’s more money to be made building a list in any niche you chose.
